  • Boeing donates to Gettysburg museum

Excerpt from a Boeing Company article:

"Boeing, on Oct. 1, presented a $250,000 check to the Gettysburg Foundation to support a new museum and visitor center at the historical Gettysburg National Battlefield. The donation was the final installment of the company's $1 Million pledge announced in 2005. The Boeing gift, made over three years, is helping to pay for the construction of a new, 139,000-square-foot museum and visitor center adjacent to the Gettysburg National Battlefield in Pennsylvania. The museum will house and preserve the park's extensive collection of Civil War archives and artifacts. Nearly two million people visit Gettysburg each year. The new center is scheduled to open in April 2008."

I simply can not wait for this new addition to be added. I am not currently a History Major, have about a Year or less left for my B.A, them I'm getting my Masters, and All I want is to be able to work in a Museum or teach. This just gives me another place which I may have the hopes of workings. I'm glad that companies, people, individuals of all sorts are donating money; I am just ecstatic.
