Ladies and Gentlemen of the AC,
While Frank Aufmuth has been working hard on the event, we both have been working on raising money for the preservation of these forts. Currently we both have been contacting vendors for raffle donations. We've been pretty successful so far, I would be very happy with any item that we have secured for raffle. I will post on the forum what we have been pledged at a latter posting.
The forts we are raising money for are National Historic Sites, but sadly enough get no funding from either the State of Missouri or the Federal Government. Frank has been contacting State of Missouri reps in an attempt to get some kind of money headed their way, but we all know how that can be. Our donations will be the lions share of funding they will get this year unless we can get the government involved.
If you are a vendor and wish to donate an item for the raffle, please contact me or Frank Aufmuth by PM and let us know what you would like to donate. If you are not a vendor but have items you would like to donate, let us know as well. We want to do a good job for the preservation of these forts, they are in pretty good shape, but from what I have been told, the fort in Patterson is beginning to suffer from ATV damage caused by people riding up the embankments/walls of the fort and it will need some work to repair these places.
