All,
Eric Mink of the SWB has donated the following drill manuals to the ACPP to raise money for the CWPT and the McRae Papers collection. The manuals available are described here:
William Gilham. Manual of Instruction for Volunteers and Militia of the United States. A hardcover authentic reprint of the 1861 Philadelphia edition. Complete with foldouts. The only authentic copy of this manual currently available.
William Hardee. Rifle and Infantry Tactics, Revised and Improved. An authentic hardcover reprint of the S.H. Goetzel edition from Mobile, Ala. Complete in two pocket-sized volumes with foldouts. The only edition of this manual currently available.
Each manual retails for $55, so that is where we will set the beginning "bid" for each. For the remainder of January, I will track "bids" on this thread. Bids must start at $55. Bids can be raised in $5 increments only. On January 31 at midnight, the bidding will close. The highest bidder will have their choice of the Gilham's manual or the two book set of Hardee's. The second highest bid can have the right of first refusal on the other manual.
These are beautiful volumes and can be useful to officers, NCOs and privates alike. Thanks to Eric for the donation. Don't miss out on this opportunity to help yourself and preservation.
