  • Wanna Be on the July Cover of the AC?

    Greetings Everyone:

Man, has it been a month since we last did this? Guess so, because it is the 20th of the month. So, the question is, "Do You Wanna Be on the July Cover of the Authentic Campaigner?"

We are looking for images that best-exemplify the look of the authentic living historian. Images taken with period technology only are required (wet plate, pencil drawing, field sketches, etc.) Please refrain from submitting an image that you have submitted within the last year. We are looking for new images and have a few days to gather the candidates. Let's keep things fresh. Thanks!

    Submission Guidelines:

    1) We will accept the first ten image submissions only. The thread will be closed after the tenth image is submitted, and any images submitted after the tenth will be deleted from the thread.

    2) Once we have ten images, the staff will select the final three. The final three will then be put up for a general vote to the membership of the forum. The winning image will be placed on the front "cover" of the web site for one month.

    3) Make sure and attach the photo to your post. If necessary, we will crop the photo for the best fit.

    4) The Moderators/Administrators reserve the right to remove any submittals that they feel don't meet the standards of the Authentic Campaigner.

Now, let's see your best images!

This image is master-crafted by by the ever-talented Wendell Decker after New Hope Church 2008.

It pretty-much illustrates how I (and others) felt after the New Hope Church event...

      ... tired, exhausted, lost-in-thought...

      ... but proud! ;)

      Thanks- Johnny

I'll bite. This is another of Wendell's marvelous creations. Done at Resaca this year, it depicts me and my brother- 2 privates of the 20th corps. I'd never had one of just my brother and me so here it is.

All right folks. Doug's image is number ten. We will now take the images to the focus group to narrow the choices down to the final three. We will have the general vote up in about four days. Thanks to everyone who submitted. This thread is officially closed.
