Re: Wanna Be on the August Cover of the AC?

Alright, I'll bite so we can get filled up so we can get the one of Mr. Nott and his son up. This one of my brother and I was done by Rob Gibson at his Gettysburg studio the weekend of the GAC event. We had fun with this one. We've been wanting to get a good one of us done for quite some time now.

Mr. Nott, we're proud of your son and very thankful for his service. You did a good job raising him!

We've rules and such here--with Preconcieved Ideas to go on top of them. And they are, as a whole, very functional ones that work very well for this community of like-minded folks.

Everyonce in awhile, we've done something different with the cover--and I think Mr. Nott's image is one of those fine exceptions to a fine rule. Let's put it on up--and let the other fine images entered this month be automatically entered for the next month.

Mr. Notts photo would get my vote and I will support it going straight to the cover without a vote. It is a quality photo in addition to the patriotism and father/son family ties it shows.

I also think his photo is a nice reflection to what we do in the hobby: People of today, honoring those who have gone before us. Certainly one he, his son and his family will cherish for ever.

How about this? Let's have one more person submit to round out our ten. Once we have the ten, I will close the thread to any more submissions and put a poll up to simply ask if we should have Mr. Nott's image on the front page. This will be a one-day poll. If the majority agrees with this, we will hold the submitted images for this month and those will be the ones for next month. Let's get one more and I will close it and have the poll up later today.

                Eric,

                That sounds very fair.

I'll vote in spirit as of about 12:30 today I'll be out of computer contact for a day or so.

                Good luck Mr. Nott!!

There now, that rounds out your 10 images. An occupational taken several years ago at Shaker Village. Sister is now thinner, I, alas have found all that she lost, and more.

Lets get that poll up, go through all the proper procedures and get Mr. Nott and his son up on the cover.

                  Vote early, vote often :D
