  • Veteran's Day Cover - Reminder

A reminder to everyone that for next month's November Cover, we will be accepting images to honor the modern military for Veteran's Day. We will ask for submittals on October 20th.

On October 20th, you can submit an image that mixes your Civil War impression with your modern military uniform. Jake Nott submitted an image a couple of months ago that inspired the idea for the Veteran's Day cover. It can be viewed by clicking here.

Please be watching this folder on October 20th to submit your image. Please do not submit images in this thread. Thanks!

Eric, do they have to be taken using period techniques?

      Brett:

No, this month only, it doesn't need to be a wet plate, but the Civil War impression shown should still be based on the standards of the AC.

Neat idea...The pic posted reminds me of the book "Guns of the South" where modern soldiers go back in time and outfit the ANV with AK-47s.
But I digress...Could the cover image be a compilation of period photos of ancestors/living relatives (in uniform) that served in various American wars over the years? Just an idea to throw out there.
