Re: Vote For the Veteran's Day Cover

First off, thank you and God's Blessings to all of our veterans.
I vote for all three and the others submitted earlier. A collage would be good.

Of the submitted, the first one is quite special.
I do also always appreciate Brother Hicks and his photogenic magnetism.
I do not know Brother Lloyd, yet, but I always like his smile.
    Regards,

Yes, number one has that special something.

I wish people had more respect for modern-day German soldiers in Germany as well, but alas.

Both my paternal and maternal sides of the family lost a lot of brothers in the war - it must be a terrible loss. And it must be nerve wrecking to have a loved one (or even several!) at the front this very hour.

Therefore, I wish all the best to those who are serving their country at the moment, and to their families as well.

And thank you Mr. Barnett. There are times, especially in the past that our military folks have been forgotten & overlooked, and a lot of it was on pupose.

my Great Great Grand father served in the confederate army, my father served in Korea, my husband served in the navy and my son serves in the ARMY NG. This time last year his unit was in Iraq. I am happy to report they are all back home. I appreciate all who serve, their sacrafice and the sacrafice of their families.

I had to vote for #1 the image captures the passage of time and the honor of the soldiers and their families who served and sacrificed so long ago right up to and including those who serve and sacrifice today.

to all who serve, have served and will serve. ..........thank you

              Catherine,

I am so very happy for you that your son is home. And with a mother like you, I am sure that he will be home.

Re: Vote For the Veteran's Day Cover

Congratulations to the Notts for their wonderful image. We could have gone ahead and put them up a few months ago, but I wanted to make sure that our other modern servicemen had a chance to share their images.

We could put a montage of images up, but in terms of what we do in the hobby combined with a tribute to modern military, I think that as usual, the members here have made the correct selection.

Thanks so much to all of who who volunteer to serve our country. We are indebted every day to your sacrifice. This cover is only a representation for all of you who serve.

I will move the initial submittal thread to the Modern Service folder as it's permanent home and keep that thread open for others to add their own images.

The new cover will be up soon. Thanks again to everyone who submitted for this special edition. This thread is officially closed.
