I voted for #3, but I am partial to Johnnies, especially those of the rough hewn variety.

#2 all the way. Good fed image in overcoats which are never seen in this day. One of the best federal images I have seen in a long time. Plus they are wearing hat brass which people seem to have a problem getting over and doing when doing federal and the damn things are dug up all over the place.

Image 1 all the way; a rarity in what we normally see and very well done to boot.

#2 is great. There are many good things going on here, the matching hat brass, the fatigue blouse tucked in to the trousers, not to mention the fife!
              pretty nice job!

With photo number one after the guys in the picture looked over it for a while we found that there was more that eight people in the picture the ones numbered we can account for the ones circled we cannot. One appears as a head the ones in the background are like the burial parties at Gettysburg and the last is a full body.

Number one. I have not yet seen such a sobering depiction of soldiers' sacrifices and I think it's about time for such an image on the AC cover.

How often does one ever see a staged 'battlefield dead' image? This one is unique here, but the others are darn good too.
