I live in Lower Alabama, down near Spanish Fort, so naturaly I tend to lean more to the late war Confederate. In fact, the unit we portray wasn't even founded until late '63, and that was as a local home guard. In 1864, they were shiped down to Mobile, and re equipped and placed in garrison at Spanish Fort and Ft. Blakely

146th New York, in the Turco uniform, Gettysburg to early Overland Campaign. Probably my favorite; I admit that I really like the uniform- for cosmetic, comfort, and functional reasons.

5th New York, circa Manassas No. 2, when their uniforms were in a particulaly messy period with bits and peices of other kit in use; also same unit in the very early war, Big Bethel timeframe with the somewhat different uniform using a different style fez-cap and havelock.

Mid to late war western theater Federal, which I find more interesting than AoP/eastern theater.

Just did my first Confederate event a month ago, and while my impression (ANV mid war) is not yet totally refined, I must admit I enjoy it a lot more than I thought I might - I suppose I like having some more leeway for personalization ;)

                                Best regards,
