Eric,In about five years one of your kids will get into your stuff and say,Daddy whats this?An you will be back ! Plus,it's nearly impossible to sell your gear because you just cant ! An dont think about going to a re-enactment as a civilian because once you smell the gunpowder you will be hooked again,it happend to me.
