I want to get this process started for April. No sense reinventing Eric's wheel here...

Greetings Everyone:
Well, it is that time of the month, so the question is, "Wanna Be on the APRIL Cover of the Authentic Campaigner?"
We are looking for images that best-exemplify the look of the authentic living historian. Images taken with period technology only are required (wet plate, pencil drawing, field sketches, etc.) Again this month, please, no "images of the dead". We have had two "dead" covers recently and that is plenty for a while.
Submission Guidelines:
1) We will accept the first ten image submissions only. The thread will be closed after the tenth image is submitted, and any images submitted after the tenth will be deleted from the thread.
2) Once we have ten images, the staff will select the final three. The final three will then be put up for a general vote to the membership of the forum. The winning image will be placed on the front "cover" of the web site for one month.
3) Make sure and attach the photo to your post. If necessary, we will crop the photo for the best fit.
4) The Moderators/Administrators reserve the right to remove any submittals that they feel don't meet the standards of the Authentic Campaigner.
Image made by T. N. Harrington at "Sparks of Seccssion" Westville '61. My impression of Goerge McKidd, the Sheriff's deputy. Geo McKidd was a lifelong resident of Stewart County Georgia. He was married and three children at the beginning of the "War of Northern Agression". Time will tell how the McKidd family will be doing in 1863.

While sitting around playing banjo, James Ross asked if he could draw me. In the span of two or three songs, he sketched this drawing on some Union letterhead.
This image of 3 Abolitionists and a free-man was made 4 years ago? At a film shoot in Weston KS. The image was done by Bob Szabo. It includes 3 members of the Tater Mess and a non-reenactor friend.

Authentic Marines are rarely done and this is a great photo of an awesome prewar event. Great job. Our own Joe Blunt and Pete Berezuk among others are pictured here. Hope this one gets consideration.
I agree, the Marine picture is exellent! Period buildings, a random civilian off to the left. The uniformity of the entire company is something that I rarely get to see. Good one.

It was truly the first 150th anniversary event!
