  • Uploading Attachments & Avatars

    Greetings:

I have seen various members comment that they cannot upload attachments or avatars. Some adjustments have been made in the settings that should help. Please post here if you run into a problem and we can check your situation and make further adjustments. Just let me know if you are having a problem uploading an image or an avatar. Thanks!

Also post here if you were unable to upload attachments or avatars before and can do it now that the settings have been adjusted. That way, I can see that the fixes worked. Thanks guys!

test test----- Okay, that worked. Eric, could you please send me a write up of settings changed? We've got the same problem in Oz since the last upgrade.

I haven't tried to change avatars in a while, but last time I tried, the photo had to be no larger than 100x100 pixels. If you submit something larger than that, it won't download. You might want to try shrinking your photo in a basic program like MS paint.

Should you shrink your photo down to a hundred square pixels, you're going to be so small that no one, including your own mother, will be able to tell who is pictured. A suggestion would be to use your current photo in actual size and see what a hundred square pixels looks like. The purpose is for others to see who you are so they will recognize you when you get in the field. With enough of your face and only some of your musket, you'd be surprised how many people might remember you as, "the guy who's pictured with his musket perfectly straight for support arms."

Yeah, the default seeting for practically every user group is 80 x 80 pixels. That size fits best with the rest of the formatting.

I can make some avatars if you guys post in here and let me know. Sam Frisco is up first since he asked.

              Eric,

I have one created, but I am not able to upload it as an avatar. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

                  Eric,

Please disregard my previous post. It looks like I've reached a sufficient number of posts that I was able to upload my own avatar.
