Primarily Confederate, AoT and Trans-Mississippi preferred, but also enjoy doing ANV.

I also like western Federal from time to time.

            Re: Federal, Confederate or Civilian?

One thing I am curious about here is the discrepancy in numbers I have been seeing recently. After enjoying a long period of events with close-to or correct ratios, it seems that the numbers have been leaning considerably to the Confederate side. I realize that this has been a long-standing issue on the mainstream side of things, but it never seemed to affect us as much. Has anyone else noticed this?

I know some of you guys do all three, but just your primary will be fine. Everyone does one thing a little more than others, right? ;)

                  Re: Federal, Confederate or Civilian?

I do US and CS equally, in theory. However, it has been heavily tilted toward CS lately. That will balance out a bit this summer and fall.

With young ones getting interested in the hobby, I've been developing my civilian impression, as well.

                  Re: Ratio issues...
Chicamauga and Shiloh 150's may shed a bit of light on this. At Shiloh, there was an authentic effort on each side (Landrum and Woodburn) and ratios were more balanced there.

However, at Chicamauga, the group who portrayed the 15th Iowa turned coat to portray Kershaw's Brigade, while Landrum's group also had a CS effort. All this at a mainstream mega with ratios already drastically tilted. Makes me wonder if I should pack two suits of clothing for Franklin!

I voted Fed though I probably do each about equally these days with more and more civilian each year.

I'd like to do more civilian but I haven't been able to find clothing of a quality I consider acceptable.

                        Re: Federal, Confederate or Civilian?

(West) Virginia Confederate mostly, but I galvanize Federal when needed at smaller events and when the impression calls for it.

I, too, portray both, though I can't speak to ratios. I prefer Federal, but CS is important.

Have a good event, will travel.

It depends on the event, I will do what seems to offer the most mischief.
