Ella Sharp Museum Civil War Days, May 20-21st, 2016
We Need Your Help!
Ella Sharp Museum in Jackson, Michigan is hosting its first annual Civil War living history weekend on May 20-21st 2016. We are currently recruiting both progressive civilian and military reenactors to fill the ranks and help us make this a special community event. Specifically, we are in need of folks willing and able to present programs for elementary and middle school students that Friday, May 20th, and reenactors to participate in a schedule of events for the public on Saturday, May 21st. We have 20-minute rotating station stops for programs on subjects like Civil War medicine, Ladies Aid Societies, life on the Jackson home front in 1861, life as a new recruit in 1861, and camp life of a volunteer. All authentic impressions of civilians, men, women, and children, and both Confederate and Union infantry are encouraged to participate with us! Our first volunteer training / event planning meetings for this event are scheduled for Thursday, January 21st at 6:00pm and Saturday, January 23rd at 11am. Feel free to share this information with other members of the reenacting community. We look forward to seeing you there!
