  • New Registrations at the AC

    Greetings!

Some say the hobby is shrinking. Maybe it is, but we aren't seeing that trend here. Since January 1, 2016, we have seen a spike of 340 new user registrations. In February alone, we had 110 registrations. That is the biggest month since March of 2013. Since I took over ownership of the AC in January, 2014, we have had 1,732 new registrations. We thank you and appreciate your support! Keep it goin' and spread the word!

My Generation grew up going to Gettysburg and reading about the Civil War. Some of us did reenacting and are back. We have returned with young and old. It will be a great year.

Tim, part of this is our love for history and preservation. Part of it is the continuous learning and reading. And the kid inside of us that still wants to play soldier. Glad you're back in the fold.

I was talking to a respected sutler last week, and he stated thy have been surprisingly busy this year. Normally, there is a lull following Christmas... Not this year.

          Good to hear.

That is very good to hear. I mentioned in a different thread that despite the narrative that reenacting is shrinking, we are seeing roughly the same numbers for c/p/h events that we had ten years ago.

The best thing we can all do going forward is just go out and kick ass at our events... well, and tell people about the AC, of course. ;)

Hopefully, the highly talked-about malaise of the post 150th doldrums and impact of other time periods regarding the reenacting community at-large is coming to an end of sorts... ;)
