Reenacting More or Less?

Greetings!

As I talk to people in the hobby and observe interactions on social media, I wonder... is real life affecting your hobby? Do you find yourself reenacting less than you used to, or are you looking for more? Do you feel like you have more free time or less? New family? New job? Maybe you haven't seen any change at all and your reenacting time is just the same as it has always been. What do you think? Take the poll and let us know how real life affects your time in the hobby.

I find myself doing a bit more, as new events are making an appearance out here in Cali.

I am still doing as many events as I have done in years past, but I find that much more of my off time is consumed by the hobby. If I'm not sewing, I am researching for future events, emailing and making phone calls for event planning.
Thank goodness Mrs Underwood is in the hobby also. Otherwise I'm afraid I wouldn'tbe as active as I am.

I've been doing fewer events. Like a lot of other guys, age is just catching up with me these days. Not many 70 year old Civil War soldiers! :)

I've cut back to doing Artillery over at Stones River and 2 events a year. Next year will be the first time I've done an event that wasn't hosted by my home unit since 2014

I'm doing the same amount as before because real life only affects me in one way - distance to events. My wife, though not a reenactor, supports my involvement. If I was a few states closer, I'd definitely be at more events.

Boy, health issues got me on major hold right now! Kinda dead in the water at the moment...but not ready to throw in the towel yet.

Same for me. Sudden major health issues, which affect travel as much as the actual reenacting, mean that I can't get to any events, and may not for the foreseeable future.

Sadly, less than before (not by choice of course)....with three kids and two jobs (one full time and one part time) it's hard to get away. Have no intention of quitting, just in a dry spell right now for me personally :(......

I've been picking up more events, since the other war has been winding down I have a lot more free time.

Picking and choosing better events... About the same as last year for me.

I think the end of the 150ths has seen a marked slow down in event frequency for most people I know, though.

Im here in JAX FL right now. Not much around here worthwhile. Long drives are the killer. I shoulda stayed up north. .Formerly I lived in Lancaster PA which put me within 4 hours of most ANV/AOP sites.Im doing a whole lot less, it's painful.

For me, driving to an event takes a total of 24 - 48 hours. I spend more time driving than at the event! But since I choose good events, it's worth it.
