Now that 2018 is upon us, it is time to figure out which events each of us would like to attend. There are twelve different EBUFU Events on the AC Calendar. Take the Poll. Which events do you plan to attend? The poll is multiple choice, so pick the ones that interest you.
HERE ARE THE TWELVE EVENTS:
HERE ARE THE TWELVE EVENTS:
1) FORT PULASKI CONFEDERATE GARRISON - CANCELED
Savannah, Georgia
April 6-8, 2018
What I am hoping to do is garner enough interest to raise at least two companies of 10 men each and portray the Confederate garrison of spring, 1862. Not only will this be a great event on the original site, but also provide inroads of further authentic-minded events at Pulaski, such as the 155th anniversary of the Immortal 600. If we get enough interest to portray more than two companies, we can definitely add a third (or fourth!) company if necessary. The more the merrier!

The Liberty Rifles are hosting this event which will be in the vein of our previous events at Point Lookout, MD, the Winter Quarters in Shipman, VA, and the 21st GA at Brawner's Farm. Attention to detail and a return to fundamental authentic reenacting is our goal. We are assembling a Battalion of 6 Companies, full color guard, with field music, cooks, teamsters and a wagon. We'll be marching, bivuoacking, eating 3 days Yankee rations, drilling, shivvering, and more of the same across Southern Virginia.

9) STONES RIVER LIVING HISTORY
Murfreesboro, Tennessee
October 5-7, 2018
This will be a research-driven event, as there are multiple primary documents available on the 84th. I have a pretty substantial amount of research on Company C, 84th Illinois, that I will be sharing as we move forward. The vast majority of the information is gleaned from the pages of the newspapers from Macomb, Illinois, where the company originated. If anyone is interested in a social history of the area and events going on at home, feel free to visit my newspaper blog on Macomb, Illinois, the home of the original company.
