  • Articles are back - over 150 links (and climbing)

If you haven't noticed the link to Research Articles yet, please take it for a spin. These include links to articles on many other sites - not just our own.

In our heyday we had about 165 articles linked from our articles pages - we're now up past 150 again.

    Enjoy.

    Paul,
This is a great move, and what the AC BB is at its best, an archive of information! Bravo!

BEAUTIFUL! Can I vote again for this as the most important part of the AC Forum for me?

      Thank you,

Thank you for all the work you put (and re-put) into this folder.

          Thank you,
Amen. The articles were always, in my opinion, the best part of the AC. There is a lot of information out there that folks have researched and written about over the years. Providing a centralized point where people can access that knowledge and wisdom is invaluable. I'm excited not only to see old friends, in the form of articles, but also to see what new research and scholarship this will promote among todays batch of reenactors.

This article collection/directory should also make it easier for those new to authentic reenacting to find information they are looking for without re-asking the same old tired questions that have been asked hundreds of times. It is a heck of a lot more efficient to suggest people visit the research articles than screaming at them to "use the search" function after they've already started a whole new thread on the same old topics and recieved a half dozen disorganized replies. On the flip side, if you are tired of answering those same old questions over and over again, why not organize your information and replies into an article where people can access it over and over again as they need to.

When I started back in 99, the Authentic Campaigner was the main site I always visited for the articles. I learned alot of the do's and don'ts from here.
