  • In search of... an image

    Please see the attached image.

This was used for our Authentic Campaigner Preservation project a few years ago when we did T-shirts and the image was made publicly available for download with our logo contest.

Does anyone still have a higher resolution copy?

    Paul,

This is a lithograph based on a photograph taken in Corinth, MS. I think it was published in "Battles & Leaders".

      Paul,

Joe Lohle sent me the original. If anyone has his contact info and can send it to you, he would probably have the original art. I just don't file anything after a couple years. Plus, that's all I could find. I believe he lives near Savanah, GA now. If someone can get you his e-mail I'm sure he can help. Good luck.

I'd love to lay eyes on that photograph - thanks Scott. You're a wealth of knowledge.

The photo itself is in Volume II, Part II of F. T. Miller's "Photographic History of the Civil War," pp. 158-159.

As [one of our cavalry] passed by, the general halted him and inquired "what part of the army he belonged to." "I don't belong to the army, I belong to the cavalry." "That's a fact," says [the general], "you can pass on." Silas Grisamore, 18th Louisiana
