    Paul
I just went there and they are online now.
Well most of it is there. The forums are down but everything else is up

Yes, you're right. I should have made that distinction. The forums are offline.

Anyone got any updates? When you click on Forums it now says this:

Sorry but the forum is down until further notice.

I am unsure when it will be back online. Please do not email asking when it will be back.

Please visit http://www.authentic-campaigner.com for online Civil War reenacting discusion.

Sounds like that IS the update. :) You'll likely want to check once a week or so... and I'm sure there will be an announcement here if things change.

Gents, please use the Private Message feature of this forum to discuss things other than updates on Mr. Szabo's CW Reenactor's Forum, please.

Point taken. However in my case I was also hoping whoever was selling the saber (if it wasn't Drew) might possibly see the post and reply. And since it was a Fall Creek saber, it wouldn't be allowed on the AC classifieds.

Perhaps a temporary area for people who were dealing over there could be created until that site is back up? Especially since the CWReenators forum is directing people to come here. I personally do not remember who I was speaking to and do not know if they are members of this forum or what their screen name might be if they are. So I would be unable to send them a PM.

Anyway, just a suggestion to be taken or not.

              Respectfully,

Thats a fair point Dave. Lemme mull that suggestion over a bit. If we did something like that, cwreenactors users would still have to follow our rules.

I'm inclined NOT to create a new folder for that unless the volume of discussion warrants it. I'd suggest making a post with a subject line of "CWREENACTORS: Sabre Sale" or something of that nature and people will immediately be able to indentify that its a CWREENACTORS related post. Put that in our Sinks folder and if there's enough of that sort of thing, we'll possibly create a sub-folder.

                    Hi Paul,
Thanks for considering the idea. And the sinks it is if I have an CWR forum stuff to bring up.

                    Cheers,

With Paul's permission, I am posting this link tothe Common Ground Forum where the mainstream and more authentic folks can meet and discuss the hobby. We also have a buy / sell / trade where both authentic and mainstream gear can be bought and sold. Think of this as a public service announcement.

You will need to register and the signature rules there are the same as here.

Good news - it looks like the site should be back this week.

I've offered to assist with the software in any way I can. I'm a firm believer that this hobby needs both websites.
