  • Please refrain from overusing attachments

We're apparently way over our storage limits here on the AC. Please avoid overusing the attachments feature until I can figure out a solution. We can't really afford the space we have now, let alone add more.

Note - if you go into your user CP you can edit your attachments. If there's junk in there thats old and perhaps unnecessary, please remove it. For instance, not picking on Matt here, but here's an old post of his with gear no-longer for sale thats taking up several megabytes.

Stuff like that can and should be removed.

Hopefully everyone will take a minute or two to check it out and delete un needed stuff. I took a look at mine and emptied a boat load! Thanks for the heads up, Paul!

I've often wondered about that especially when it came to people who advertise stuff and sell it off.

Good point Emmanuel. There are a ton of closed sales that probably have attachments.

Paul, I have an old thread that has a couple pictures attached but the thread is closed so I can't edit it. Could you help me out?

go to your CP find attachments, you can delete them there.

The only problem with deleting pictures from discussion threads is that when someone looks up these threads, the picture is deleted. Is there a date beyond which the threads are no longer available?

Should we delete pictures from these threads anyway?

Don't delete anything of any real value - we'll be increasing our storage space on the webserver, just not sure how soon... probably in the next week.

                          Mr. Crabb,
there is no box to check for "delete items". On my other open thread with attachments there is a box to check, but on the closed on there aren't any.

To clarify, we dont want anyone deleting images of research value. This is, afterall, a research forum and the images are germain to that. What we are going after here will mainly be images from WTS ads that are no longer needed.

While we're on the topic, it would'nt be a bad idea to go through your private message box and do some deleting there as well. Save some things on your hard drive, delete some things you know you don't need.

                              Thanks All
