"I think and highly hope that this war will end this year, and Oh then what a happy time we will have. No need of writing then but we can talk and talk again, and my boy can talk to me and I will never tire of listening to him and he will want to go with me everywhere I go, and I will be certain to let him go if there is any possible chance."

New member here from Ontario Canada. portray infantry corporal, bugler 10th Lousianna CSA. height 5' 6". weight 169 lbs. age 48. I excercise regularly to keep my weight down. I saw a photograph of Revolutionary War reenactors at Black Creek Pioneer Village in Toronto 4 years ago. Everyone had to be at least 100 lbs overweight. This was not appealing. people were generally smaller 150 years ago, and weight was not an issue until the advent of processed sugar. meat was a rarity, passenger pidgeon being the main meat dish according to mainstream Canadian History magazine "The Beaver." Good luck with your research. great and important topic.
