New features on the AC

Hey all -
As promised, we've installed the new software and there are a lot of new features here on the AC.

• NOTICES: Now we can get our message across to you with Notices which are highly customizable based on whatever parameters we set.
• PREFIXES: Some folders have had prefix-sets added so we can better define whats in a particular thread. ie. "Breaking News: Thread Title About the News"
• PROFILES: As Micah Trent said, "we've gone MySpace". Your profiles are now HIGHLY customizable. Inline editing of your profile makes updating your profile infinitely easier. Visitor tracking lets you know who is looking at your profile.
• SOCIAL GROUPS: Now you can create your own private or public social groups.. invite who you want, boot who you don't want.
• ALBUMS: You now have the ability to create your own photo albums. For your unit, your event, yourself. Keep it topical and clean.
• FRIENDS: Another profile tool, link to your friends and keep better track of them online.
• MESSAGE CENTER: With the changes in your profile, you'll now notice the private messages area will change and you'll get different notifications depending on if someone PM'd you, made a comment about one of your photos or left a comment on your profile page.
• ATTACHMENT VIEWING: Clicking on an attachment now opens a lightbox rather than opening a new window - scaled to fit your screen. Click on the image again to open in a new window.
• TAGS: Every thread has the ability to create tags. Inputing tags will help our search function to an even greater degree.
• SOCIAL BOOKMARKING: Digg , del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, Google - you might be more familiar with this feature than I am but as I understand it, by using the bookmarking links at the bottom of a thread, I believe you alert other folks around the internet to an interesting thread/post.

In addition to all of those features, there's some new features for the admins and mods which should make life better for us too. More spam prevention tools, better security against hackers.

Currently the features listed above are available to everyone. When April 1 rolls around and the grace period for subscribing is over, some of these features will likely become subscriber only.

Im lovin the new profile and all the new features...I was just yesterday thinking about how it would be nice to have a "friends" list on here as a way to keep track and keep up with all the people that you talk to the most...
