This is very sad news. I will always remember a dinner we had at Jan and Duchess's house and John and Beth came. It was the night I first met him. When Colleen and I were leaving ( it was snowing badly ) he said "hey ronnie, since you secesh from down south don't know anything about snow, watch your step". 2 seconds later I was skidding down the sidewalk on my ass and John collapsed in laughter.
Beth, God bless you darlin, and your in our thoughts.

          Ms. Beth-

Last I saw of ya'll both was at Marmaduke's Raid in our fort as our sutlers. We had a fine time having you all there to sell goods to us and John was a bright spot amongst the company present. We had a fine time indeed.

We will miss John very much as a part of our circle of friends.

May God bless you both and keep you in his arms.

To a certain extent I have made much of my living using words. At this news there are no words to express my sorrow at your loss. I never heard harsh words spoken of John.

I've waited all night to post something...the waiting has done no good. Many of you know me as a man who can't shut up, but tonight I have no words. John was a true friend and brother to me and no words here will begin to do him justice. I've got nothing.
