Re: Kathryn Coombs-former Civilian Forum Moderator

A great loss to the civilian community and the hobby in general.
    She will be missed.

Eric Tipton and I thought it would be fitting to do an AC cover in her honor.

          Paul,

I think it's a wonderful photo to remember Kathryn by. This image was taken at her much loved historic house, Cleydael, where she was surrounded by her favorite antiques and in the company of her beloved dog, Bob Dog.

                Re: Kathryn Coombs' Memorial Arrangements

Kathryn always had smooth seas and following winds. She was the daughter of a Navy Admiral. In all she did and touched, she cared for all, walked the road of knowledge, and freely passed it to everyone she met. We can honor her by continuing her legacy. She was my friend and always had a smile, a hi and a question.

                    Re: Kathryn Coombs' Memorial Arrangements

Here is a wonderful short tribute to Kathryn by Greg Starbuck of Historic Sandusky in Lynchburg, Virginia. I believe the footage was taped in June of 2004 at the historic Norvell-Otey House in Lynchburg. Rob Hodge filmed it and Greg Starbuck edited it. Greg asked that we share it with all who knew Kathryn.

                      Photos of Kathryn

I wanted to share the link to a Flickr page that one of Kathryn's oldest & dearest friends, Laurie Graham, put together. The photo stream has images of the grave side service for Kathryn, the gathering at Pat Troy's Irish Bar in Alexandria, and (if you go to the end of the album) photos of Kathryn from her childhood through adulthood. I have a feeling Laurie will add more photos to the album from yesterday's Celebration of Life at Cleydael when she is settled sometime in the next few days. Laurie has also been scanning in Kathryn's family photos that we found at Cleydael last weekend, so keep checking back for new images.

Please enjoy the photos and memories of Kathryn!
