Delone Fuglseth. "Private Fugi" of the 22nd North Carolina died on August 1, 2011 from natural causes at his home near Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He was one of the founding members of the Brown Water Mess and was instrumental in its progressivity and authenticity.
He was a veteran of the 1st Gulf War, a fellow progressive living historian and a good friend for many years. He and some of us pards had just made the trip out to the 150th Manassas for the adjunct with the 6th North Carolina. This was his first and only major national event. During the 2-week trip we visited 17 battlefields and sites across the US, from Vicksburg and Chickamauga to Harper's Ferry and Sayler's Creek. He went out with a bang.
He was one of a kind, loved this hobby, and he will be missed.
