Re: Sad News (Civilian thread)
Friends,
In the August 2009 issue of Civil War News, on page 44, is a report of the memorial service held at Spangler's Spring for Charles Heath. This service was held by reenacting friends as a highlight of a living history that was dedicated to Charles and is not to be confused with the actual memorial service held after his death by his wife and family. It was a touching ceremony, nonetheless, featuring "Taps" played by one of the premier buglers in the hobby, George Rabbai. Those of you who knew and loved Charles will enjoy reading the article.
