  • Collection of Civil War Drawings by Frank Leslie Artists

To all who enjoy seeing the life and times in the camps, roads, battlefields, recorded by talented artists of the 19th Century newspaper Frank Leslie's. I have been given a link to their new history website by Boston College on "The Becker Collection- Drawings of the American Civil War Era". Some sketches I have never seen till now.
    Heres the link, enjoy:

If anyone has an interest in the 1861 Missouri campaign (Gen. Lyon, Wilson's Creek) the Fort Henry-Donelson, and Shiloh campaigns, the artist Henri Lovie was there, and left a great visual record. The New York Public library has most of the ones that have been published, but this site has a collection that I have never seen. A great treat!
