Query about orders to South Union Mills

    Query about orders to South Union Mills

    I recently emailed these people about one of their straw hats. Now I'm wondering if I need to contact them through their new store in Gettysburg?
    I've not received an anwer from my email.

    Realizing this question isn't in the proper place, but didnt' know where else to ask, where it would be seen and possibly get a response.

    I have always had good replies from E.J. Thomas within a reasonable timeframe for businesses of this kind.
    You do not state the period waiting for a reply.
    1 day, 1 week or 2 weeks?
    I have always heard within that time. You must accept that it is a busy time of the year. He is probably working hard to produce my Mexican War knapsack and the rest of my order.
    Send another email through the site and I am sure it will elicit a response.

      Well...For starters, I have my merchants mixed up. I did send an order to E.J. Thomas for other items..paid through paypal. Not a lot of hurry for these although I could really use the vest buckles in about 2 wks.s

      SOUTH UNION MILLS is the merchant where I wrote/ordered the straw hat. ..(sorry,I've too much going on as well ;( )

      Just wondering what their turn around is on the hats... hope to hear in a few days..

        Vivian,

        I ordered a straw hat from Chris Utley aka South Union Mills on May 20. Chris emailed me back on May 26, apologizing because my email had ended up in his "spam" filter. I sent a payment via paypal later in the day on the 26th. The hat arrived on Wednesday, June 10 from the gentleman that Mr. Utley is working with.

        I hope this information helps you.

          All the same, send him an email on his site and he will respond in good time as he is a gentleman and an honest dealer.
          Of course this may hold up my Mexican War knapsack.

            Erik...I sincerely hope that my purchase of the straw hat doesn't in any way interfer with your the construction and delivery of your Mexican knapsack :tounge_sm lol

            It is approaching the busy time of year and suspect that all these fine gentlemen are hard at work, and possibly out on the road as well...

            I appreciate the input..and will patiently wait for my merchandise...

              Erik, I assure you that by bothering Bill a little, it will not hold up your Mexican War knapsack, as I have it with me in a box (along with some other cool doo-dads) getting ready to be shipped to Bill Lomas. I handsewed and painted the bags and Bill is doing the strapping, which I'm sure he has knocked out. You be getting a fine piece of martial baggage quite soon!

                I hope that the lady receives her straw hat from whomever the supplier is and only responded as everytime I have ordered from E.J. Thomas I have been promptly dealt with and informed along the way in a clear and open manner. The items that I have ordered have been made to the highest standard, some made by you.
                I await the receipt of this product and can assure you that it will elicit the same response as my recently acquired Otter Creek Bartholomae canteen and your incredible McComb shelter halves. Wow.
                My comments were mischevious and a bit tongue in cheek.

                  Folks,

                  As stated above, I don't have a store in Gburg, although one would be nice! Hat orders are currently running about 2-3 weeks for delivery. Emails are returned ASAP, Vivian's was received on Friday and returned on Sunday, so that is usually pretty standard, if not much sooner.
