I have a piece of beautiful blue cut velvet that I suspect is vintage 1950's...It's beginning to call to me and I'd ove to make a perod jacket of it....It's wonderfully soft and is very possibly silk or a rayon/silk blend..You can tell from the feel and drape that it is high quality fabric.
I know there was a variety of velvets, including cut velvet in our period, But just wanting a second opinion :)
What I have in mind is a jacket for travel with white linen shirt under it, and a dark brown wool skirt?????
