In general, I'm trying to educate myself about parasols and was also wondering if there are any suggested makers out there?

Parasols are a necessary item for women in fashionable bonnets, as the mid-century styles do not shade the face. Parasols are most often covered in silk, and are not terribly large; there are multiple handle styles appropriate for the era.

One good resource can be your local library, in the antiques guides.
