Only thing in that area that I've heard any rumblings about so far is this, and I don't know the situation for including women (or anything else about it), so you'd need to contact the organizers:

    March for Redemption

I wish that authentic events for civilians were common enough that one didn't need to travel out of state for most events (any state, wherever you are), but I think that folks are just too thin on the ground to put on that many, that regularly. Heck, if you hear of any really good ones in Virginia in that time frame, let me know; I'd come over there.

Re: 2010 Civilian events in North Eastern VA???

        Date: May 14-30, 2010
        Name: March for Redemption
Location: Harpers Ferry to Havre de Grace, Maryland
Sponsor/Host: CWPT (Dusty Chapman will be coordinating donations raised and will forward them to CWPT).
Capacity: Five individuals. Two people are presently signed up- Bill Birney and Joe Bordonaro. If more than three other people sign up, a waiting list will be created in the event that one or more participants have a change of plans.
        POC: Bill Birney
        Email: twbirney@aol.com
        CWPT Info: http://www.civilwar.org
        Forum: AC Forum Subforum
        Listserver: Participant level email list
Preservation component: Marchers will be soliciting for either 10 cent donations per mile marched, or 25 cents per mile, or 50 cents per mile, or $1 per mile.
Notes: The participants in this event will be portraying Federal deserters who have deserted their post atop Maryland Heights. The participants will be traveling along the Appalachian Trail to Whisky Spring, Pennsylvania. From there they will follow the Mason/Dixon Trail to Havre de Grace, Maryland. The distance is approximately 150 miles. We will be traveling along public trails and will not be carrying arms so we will not be required to gain permits from authorities. We will arrange stops for water and food along the way. We hope, by carrying out this march, to redeem, in part, the acts of those soldiers who deserted their comrades by raising money for the preservation of the battlefields on which they fought. Hence the name, "March for Redemption".

        Civilians: (From Joe Bordonaro)
"We were hoping that we could arrange to have a group of authentic civilians inhabit a house from the period somewhere along the way. The ideal situation would be for us to get "caught" stealing a pie from a window ledge. At that point, the civilians who caught us could take pity on us and let us eat the pie and maybe switch out some of our uniform for civilian duds to aid in our attempt to get back home."

Re: 2010 Civilian events in North Eastern VA???

Well, I'll be out at the trial event in Missouri May 14-17 working at the inn, so I don't know how fast I could make it over to Virginia. Unless there's a really functional building to be occupied for several days, it sounds like the house might be more of an afternoon thing for local people. However, if there's a cool multi-day house event that doesn't conflict with the trial event...

I am working the final details of a Harpers Ferry event, possibly the last weekend in February- I know this is late notice, but once the date is set I will forward out all information.

                      Krystin,

I'm looking to doa few civilian events in 2010 and will keep you and others on here posted with anything new I find. Maybe we can set something up at the Fort? I'll talk to Laura Lee as I got to know her a bit after going to two events last season.

                      Best,
