Re: Any advice on how to get more college-aged living historians?
Being a student at Gettysburg College, the Civil War is all around us. On campus, we have a student run group of living historians called the Pennsylvania College Guard. While we technically portray the people from the school and town during the war, our military is normally too small to form its own company. Thus, they normally fall in with other units or portray a guard or some other impression that would be about 5 - 8 guys. The civilians portray people from all classes and regions, but mostly have a lower class impression.
I think having a unit on campus is very unique to Gettysburg College, but it could be started anywhere. Throughout the years we, as a unit, have obtained a lot of loaner gear and through friends in other units, we can outfit most of the unit.
