  • Interesting trade images

    Hi all,

I stumbled on a link after Googling "broom maker" that led me to a Flikr account that led me to a Sotheby's auction that took place in April of 2010. Some amazing images were sold (and not), luckily they can stil be viewed online, check out the link, Dags from the 1850s - hatter, baker, blacksmiths, awesome: http://www.sothebys.com/en/catalogue...ographs-n08624

    Enjoy!

    Very nice!

    I like this one:

    (hope the link works)

A carpenter at his workbench, with posters of his favorite musicians on the wall. You can hit Zoom+ to blow it up. That's Jenny Lind, but who's the group? Thought it might be the Hutchinsons, but I don't recognize that image.

Great images. I especially like the carpenter and his tools, as I'm a bit of a period tool junkie. How about the "relaxed sitter"?? Can't say I've ever seen a pose like that for a portrait before.
