Per the Troop Train Guidelines from Joe Grosson on wear:

4.Reenactors must be in period attire and may bring bedrolls, backpacks, haversack, and a canteen.
5.Civilian reenactors must be in period attire.

He can be dressed either as a soldier or as a Civilian. If he has a correct military uniform, he may wear that. He does not have to dress as a civilian.

Becky, has the young man from Peoria found suitable wardrobe? and made arrangements for a ride home. I live about 2 hrs. southwest of Peoria, and could possibly help him out.

I loved seeing you all there this past week. I especially enjoyed the taunting as I rode through with the federal infantry on Saturday morning. It made me feel more "In Period". Glad you all showed up, it made the event more special.

I think I understand what military fame is; to be killed on the field of battle and have your name misspelled in the newspapers.
