      PATTERNS FOR HOSPITAL CLOTHING.—No. 3.
      SLIPPERS.

      REQUIRED FOR A PAIR OF SLIPPERS.
      5 1/2 yards common woolen carpet binding.
      2 1/2 knots strong linen thread.

      DIRECTIONS FOR MAKING SLIPPERS.

      Slippers should be made of carpeting or stout woolen cloth and lined with cotton or cotton flannel. Each part should be bound and the three parts sewed together by the binding. A stiff sole of pasteboard or pole leather should be inserted between the lining and outside.

        "Every Lady, Her Own Shoe Maker" avaliable from Amazon has patterns for both a woman's side lace walking shoe and a gentleman's house slipper. Just scan the patten and increase the size and you are good to go. I've got a pair of the house slippers that I put together.

          I love the Every Lady book.

          Of course, in the opening pages it says something like 'have the cobbler make a last for your foot'

          That task has proved problematic to accomplish.:cry_smile
