  • Straw Top Hat

I've been looking for an 1840's appropriate straw top hat and have been having trouble finding one that fitsmy ample noggin. Most good sources, such as South Union Mills, tend to top out shy of 24 inches. I need one that's 24.25. Would any of you fine folks know of a source that I'm overlooking? Thanks in advance!

I have an inquiry out to a merchant on FaceBook. I will keep you appraised if she can accommodate your measures. :-)

You need one of these. http://www.villagehatshop.com/produc...stretcher.html

I made my own. Wet the hat and stretch it a little at a time. You will probably need to adjust the hat band and sweatband.

If you look on the Approved Vendor list, you might find what you need, sir:

There are a few makers of straw hats listed and they might be able to help you. ;)

Mr. Thomas I believe the original poster is looking for the hat not trying to buy one too small
and then fix it. In addition, before sending someone to a commercial business why not suggest
buying a hat stretcher from an AC vendor like Tim Bender. His also costs $10.00 less. Support
