  • Best places to purchase Civilian sack coats 1850's-60's

    Hello,

I am carefully researching myself on civilian sack coats before I purchase one, and am putting this out there for feedback on good vendors to buy these from, that I may not have heard from. So far I'm looking at Corner Clothiers, B. Tart, C & Jasper.
Also, I've seen folks recommend Union St. Tailors, Birmingham Market, & The civilian civil war closet, but haven't been able to find any of their websites. If anyone has their site locality, I'd appreciate it.
I'm looking at maybe something from the late 50's early 60's and a common man. Like a mill worker, clerk, farmer from the trans-Mississippi region.

    Much appreciated,
    Patrick

The "Civilian Civil War Closet" is a group on FaceBook chatting about all things civilian related. There are several other groups too.

There are several tailors on the Approved Vendors list that can easily handle a sack coat. Look at them first. :-) Go Team AC!

In fairness to the AVs, other suggestions need to be via PM.

If you are on Facebook there is a company called Statler and Wirick clothing house, they make a civilian sack coat to your exact measurements for $140. If you decide to buy something tell them Jonathan Warden recommended them.
      Best of luck,
