My family and I reenact with Texas Rifles and are thinking about going to Pennsylvania for July 4th. Is there any kind of reenactment there for that date?

Re: Question About a Reenactment
Excellent question Emily and welcome to the forums. I would suggest visiting this site: http://www.gettysburgreenactment.com/
I would also recommend that you sign your name to your post as the moderators get very particular about this. If you have any other questions, please ask. Christopher J. Daley

Re: Question About a Reenactment
Thank you so much for the link, Mr. Daley! That is exactly what I was looking for. Would it be possible, for our family, to link up with another group for the event? Our group, the Texas Rifles, will not be going this year.
Thank you again for your help,
Emily Lechmann, Houston, Texas

Re: Question About a Reenactment
A great place to find other groups going to this event would be on this forum: http://www.cwreenactors.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi
Good luck! Christopher J. Daley

Re: Question About a Reenactment
Emily, welcome to the Forums!
Mr. Daley's suggestion of the CWReenactor's forum for Gettysburg info is a good one; as it's not considered an event consistent with the standards for history-heavy, "authentic" events, we mods don't encourage discussion of such here, but other forums do, and they are a good resource. (He's also spot-on with the "sign your name" rule, and I thank you for your quick and pleasant name addition!)
I'm not aware of any authentic or progressive events surrounding the battle dates, though. (But, I'm not on the East Coast, either, so my info is somewhat limited in that respect.)Regards,
Elizabeth Clark
