Join the USV, 3rd Infantry Civilians in the Remembrance Day Parade 2019!
Date: 23 November 2019
Place: Gettysburg, Penn'a, gathering place and time to be announced
The US Volunteers, Third Infantry are an umbrella organization of re-enacting units. We participate each year in the Remembrance Day Parade by the Sons of Union Veterans in Gettysburg, PA. For our entry in 2019, we’d like to follow the historic line-up of the parade and include representative portrayals of the many various dignitaries, organizations, and citizens who participated historically. To that end, we invite you to join us in interpreting the non-military persons under the coordination of Elaine “Wolfie” Kessinger.
As our guests, we have some basic standards in dress and deportment with which you will be expected to comply. Those who are interested but need a bit of coaching to meet the standards can be paired with a mentor in most cases. The right attitude goes a long way. Sounds intimidating, but we’ll make it as painless as we can.
To begin the process, please fill out the interest form and have a photograph of yourself (or group) in clothing and kit you think appropriate to your desired portrayal ready. Once we have received your form, we will e-mail you with any questions and ask you to submit your photograph. We’ll confer and respond with your approved portrayal.
While many “men of influence” are needed, we also have portrayals available to working class men, people of color, women of all statuses, and children.
Don’t be shy. Join us, please. :-)
Warm Regards-

Dress & Deportment Standards: pages 5-12
The document the Historic Line-up came from was based on a list of people who were sent invitations. Many declined. We do not have a complete record of exactly who accepted.
