Dear Sir,
As noted above, eBay farb sales are not appropriate discussion topics for the citizen's discussion areas. Your suggest to "lighten up" is not one I appreciate as a moderator... the folks in the citizenry shouldn't have this farbage to deal with, any more than the folks in the military appreciate poly-cotton duck "sack" coats. When you have nothing to add to the discussion, please do not type.

I think this is just the female equivalent of the leather sack coat the soldiers are talking about.

I can see this poor bonnet being shuffled around from era to era. If someone asked me, I'd say it's certainly not 1860s, but might have a vague look of 1810-1820, an era I don't know much about. I'm sure those who focus on that era would say it's definitely not right for their period, but it might be okay for ... (some era they don't know about). And those people would reject it but suggest some other time period, and so on ad infinitum.

Sometimes I think this sort of thing doesn't deserve any comments--words just don't suffice (so why am I posting?!:))...I feel sorry for the person who will be taken in by such sales, and maybe even more so because awhile ago I might (God forbid--and I probably wouldn't admit it) even have been that person. It's sad...and I think enough said...

It was not my intention to insult, trust me, that would be the last thing I was attempting to do. I just thought we all could use a bit of a laugh. It would appear that you and I do not share the same guidelines when it comes to humor.
