  • looking for someone to portray a manservant

    List,
This may be the wrong place to post this message and if it is I apologize now.

I focus mainly on the 1830's/texas Revolution but more especially on the 1840's Republic of Texas and Mexican War eras. I am currently putting together a total immersion, first person event portraying the siege and final assualt of the Alamo in 1836. I have most of my major defenders spots filled but am looking for someone to portray Joe, Travis' manservant/slave. Joe was supposed to be around 20-21 from what I understand and his character has never been portrayed at an event like this to my knowledge. I had been in touch with some folks who do this impression for a living but found that the event dates(Feb. 25-27, 2005) conflict with their sites schedule. If anybody out there kows of someone who might be interested in portraying this person please let me know.

I sincerely appreciate your help and look forward to hearing from you!

    Scott,
We have chatted about the event before, and it looks lke there will be 6-8 of us in our "1836 Mess"

I would suggest Emmanual Dabney. No better First person historian out there......

Dont have his email here at work though....can someone help?

        Scott,
I don't think I would fit the bill. I cannot give the same effort to the foot washes/rubs as Ms. Monica. Would be happy to saddle your flea bitten grey.
