    Re: William Sidney Mount Exhibit

For anyone in that area, I wholeheartedly recommend that you see the exhibit, as William Sydney Mount is one of the living historians greatest friends when it comes to capturing in detail the life, times, and clothing of civilians prior to the Civil War. With just a few looks one can see small things such as the cut of clothing, types of shirts and trousers and hats, even braces and footwear in everyday scenes of life. If you can't make the showing, you'd do well to get to a library and at least look at some of his work in books.
