Re: Civilian Rain Coats or outer Garments
When I was looking for a rain garment a couple of years ago, Jarnagin told me they were out of stock and they had no plans to produce new ones. The cloth was getting too expensive and they coats didn't sell enough to maintain an inventory.
Brian,
I've got a link on my desktop PC to a catalogue of india rubber goods that I found on Google books a few years ago. They advertise all sorts of rubber goods and provide sketched images. If you can't find it in a search, let me know and I'll send the link.
As a reference, George Alfred Townsend, a journalist from New York, tells in his book "Campaigns of a Non-Combatant" of outfitting himself with a whole rubber suit - hat, coat, gloves and shoes.
Good luck! I hate to get wet as much as anyone.
