PERRYVILLE,
A post village of Boyle county, situated on Chaplin Fork, near the center of the State, 10 miles west from Danville, the capital of the county, 40 miles south from Frankfort, 75 miles south-east from Louisville, and by stage routes 20 miles from Lebanon and 10 from Harrodsburg.
It was established in 1817, and contains four Protestant churches, a seminary and female institute, one Masonic lodge (Maguire No. 209), one Lodge I.O.O.F. (Boyle No. 56), one steam flouring mill and carding machine, two hotels, four general stores, one druggist and one grocery, six physicians, one magistrate, two bankers and confectioners, one brick yard, one tanner, one lime manufacturer, two milliners, numerous resident planters, and various mechanical trades. Population about 600. Post office established in 1817.
