  • Need side burns does anyone make them.

Hello, I am doing a civilian impression of a rich Scotsman who lived in Milwaukee and sported a pair of what I refer to as "Burnsides". Does anyone know of a wig maker or make-up artist who can make up such a thing. I am serious and need them-- Cant grow my own would take years!! and they would be all gray and curly!!!:confused_

    Thanks

No offense, but I'm struggling to see how that fits our model here of authenicity.

Nope, it doesn't. I'd suggest the szaboreenactors.com site for that one.

As a lover of fine whiskers on gentlement--replicating side-whiskers would be the very last step in the impression, though it may take some time to grow them in. What with the process of acquiring the top-quality custom haberdashery a rich fellow will require, you may find you have time to grow them, after all. :)

Light kidding aside--theatrical whiskers are great for movies, the stage, and private investigators, but don't often hold up well to the very close distances of living history and interpretive work. Even the best look... fake. Like, Gettysburg movie beards fake. Not lovely.
