I was just looking at Past Pattern's men's pants pattern and had a few questions about material and construction. I'm just looking to make a versitale pair of pants to wear during the next season, and I thought I needed to start now.
I wanted to order my fabric at the same time I ordered the pattern, but the site doesn't have any fabric suggestions listed. I want to make a pair of pants that would be appropriate for a working class impression north or south. I know jeans is appropriate for work clothes, but is it appropriate for the summer pants pattern? Is there one particular color that is right for work clothes? What of the marl cloth listed on Family Heirloom Weavers' page? Is that more "everyday" fabric than work fabric?
I know I need to do some more research, but I figured this would take me a while, so I wanted to get started now.
Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
