CR on kepis?

I came across this image,and wondered what the "CR" on their kepis is for. I was told the gentlemen we're from Henry County, Virginia. Any help would be appreciated. thanks:)

The Cascade Rifles were from Cascade, Pittsylvania Co., just across the county line from Henry Co. They became 38th Virginia Co. K. Don't know...
