Please allow this post as it's directed at artillerymen, and it's an unusual request.
Greetings:
I have been asked by the US army,{the real one} to put together a salute battery for a promotion ceremony at Fort Dix, NJ, on May 5th. This will be hosted by a Major General.
I have, thanks to some friends, 4 cannon of which three are original. I could use a few more cannon and or some cannoneers to help man the guns I already have.
Funny thing the folks at Fort Dix were turned down by several groups. I can tell you from personal experience that our fighting men and women love it when we show up.
I refuse to ask fee from our armed forces, but my unit would be willing to help out anyone coming with travel expenses.
So if you want to show your support for our troops in person and turbo-boost their moral please give me a call or drop me a line.
