I didn't see that thread, but if you can get your hands on any of the "Echoes of Battle" books about Chickamauga/Chattanooga and the Atlanta Campaign, there are tons of photos in there of the westerners wearing their hats in that fashion, although some appear to be private purchase hats made specificallyin that style.Chris Utley
